Balloon

I feel like a balloon.
I bloat up with embarrassing emotions,
Then deflate when I have work to do.

I get lost in my head,
Like I’m floating away from Earth.

I want to float away.
I want to pop
Like a balloon.

I hate my helium voice.
I hate that I have strings attached,
Strings that people need to go through
To get to know me.

Fish Nets

A mermaid swims proud and free.
The water the color black.
The angler fish show her ruby eyes.

While it’s dark and
She is alone,
She is safe.

One day a large machine appears before the merlady.
A man sits in the machine,
All the way from land.

The fish run from the man,
Not the machine.

Something shoots out,
A net.
The mermaid is dead.

Lemon Milk

Why does lemon milk not exist?
Regular milk exists.
Chocolate milk exists.
Strawberry milk exists.

Lemon milk would taste good if it existed.

I like the taste of lemon.
I should create thoughtless fun.
